Shedeur Sanders Drops Subtle NFL Draft Hint During Cowboys Comment
Titans? Browns? Giants? Sanders appeared to subtly reveal his potential landing spot in an interview ahead of the Shrine Bowl.
Sanders chuckles as he watches a game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets.
Shedeur Sanders, the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and projected top pick in the 2025 NFL draft, strengthened his position as the draft’s top contender when, in the days leading up to the East-West Shrine Bowl, he met with the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants, the teams holding the first, second, and third picks in April’s draft, respectively.
However, Sanders may have taken it a step further during an interview at the Shrine Bowl on Thursday night.
Speaking with NFL Network’s Jane Slater, Sanders appeared to hint at his potential destination in the NFL draft. (The key moment occurs at the 2:50 mark in the video below.)
When Slater asked Sanders about his experience being at AT&T Stadium, where his father, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, played for five seasons, Sanders responded: “Nah being in this stadium is definitely fun … I know I’ll play here very soon against the Cowboys,” he said, smiling, before expressing how thankful he was to be part of the Shrine Bowl.
Sanders’s “very soon” remark suggests it could be the Giants, who play at AT&T Stadium once a year in their divisional games against the Cowboys, that might select him with the third pick in April. Neither the Titans nor Browns are scheduled to play in Dallas in 2025. However, Tennessee is set to face the Cowboys in AT&T Stadium in 2026.
This isn’t the first time Sanders has hinted at the possibility of playing in New York. During a November episode of his podcast, 2Legendary, Sanders smiled when his Colorado teammate Drelon Miller suggested the Giants pick him.
Additionally, in a video for Deion Sanders Jr.’s Well Off Media during a December practice ahead of the Buffaloes’ Alamo Bowl game, Shedeur told his brother that the cleats he was bringing to the bowl game would provide a strong clue about his draft destination. While he didn’t wear those cleats in the game, Sanders did bring red-and-blue cleats. However, his father later clarified that he also had cleats for other NFL teams, including the Titans.
The speculation continued when Sanders met up with Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers for a game of catch while in New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Ultimately, the Giants’ level of interest in Sanders will determine whether their interest turns into action on April 24.
