“Set Up in Sex Scandal” – Cowboys Prospect Isaiah Bond Claims Innocence in Legal Battle

As the Dallas Cowboys prepare for a rebound in the 2025 NFL season following a disappointing 2024 campaign, one of their potential draft targets is making headlines for reasons off the field.

Isaiah Bond, a standout wide receiver who played his final college season with the Texas Longhorns, is currently embroiled in serious legal trouble. The 21-year-old draft prospect turned himself in to Frisco Police last week due to an outstanding arrest warrant. After posting $25,000 bail, Bond and his legal team immediately moved to challenge the allegations.

Bond, once projected as a possible late first-round pick, has now filed a defamation lawsuit against his accuser. His agent, Damien Butler, also distributed a detailed 17-page letter to all 32 NFL teams asserting that Bond was the victim of a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation and career.

According to Butler, the incident stemmed from a consensual relationship with a woman reportedly eight years older than Bond. The document claims she persistently pursued Bond, shared explicit content, and ultimately tried to exploit the situation for financial gain. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared a quote from the complaint, stating: “The full truth will reveal that he was manipulated and framed, not guilty of any wrongdoing.”

Bond addressed the public after his release, saying, “These accusations are completely untrue. I ask everyone to withhold judgment until a thorough investigation is complete and the facts are clear.”

In 2024, Bond played one season at Texas after transferring from Alabama, tallying 34 catches for 540 yards and four touchdowns. At the NFL Combine, his 4.39-second 40-yard dash showcased his elite speed and had scouts buzzing. He was ranked 140th on Pro Football Focus’s draft board before the legal issues surfaced.

Some teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles, are reportedly reconsidering his draft status or removing him from their boards entirely. Meanwhile, the Cowboys, who are also eyeing Bond’s Texas teammate Matthew Golden with the 12th overall pick, have held meetings with Bond.

Despite the controversy, Bond’s camp remains confident that he’ll be vindicated and ready to contribute in the NFL. “Isaiah is 100% innocent,” said Butler. “Teams that recognize his potential will gain a dedicated and dynamic athlete ready to make an impact for years to come.”

As Dallas leadership – including CEO Stephen Jones, new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, and owner Jerry Jones – prepare for the upcoming season, this situation adds another layer of intrigue to their draft plans.
