The Detroit Lions kicked off Wednesday’s joint practice with the Miami Dolphins with some encouraging developments on the injury front — and one notable absence.

Cornerback Terrion Arnold (hamstring), rookie edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein (lower leg), and running back Sione Vaki (hamstring) were all back on the field after missing time. In contrast, safety Kerby Joseph, who had only recently resumed practicing, was not in uniform. His absence has not yet been officially explained, and it’s possible the team is being cautious with his workload.
