Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff to Star in Season 2 of Netflix’s Hit Docuseries ‘Quarterback’

For Goff, the 2024 season was one of his best statistically. He led the Lions to a stellar 15-2 regular-season record, securing the franchise’s second straight NFC North title and earning the conference’s No. 1 seed. His performances throughout the year were instrumental in Detroit’s success, especially after he signed a lucrative four-year, $212 million contract extension in May 2024. On the field, Goff posted career-high numbers, throwing 37 touchdown passes while achieving a 72.4% completion rate and averaging 8.6 yards per attempt.

Despite his dominant regular-season play, Goff’s year ended in disappointment. In the NFC divisional round against the Washington Commanders, he struggled under pressure, throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble in one of his toughest performances of the year. The heartbreaking loss cut short what had been a promising playoff run for Detroit.

While this will be the first time Goff and Burrow appear in Quarterback, Cousins is making a return to the series after being a key figure in Season 1. The debut season, which was widely praised for its inside look at the quarterback position, followed Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, Cousins (then with the Minnesota Vikings), and Marcus Mariota, who was with the Atlanta Falcons at the time and is now a backup for the Commanders.
