With Kevin Zeitler recently departing for the Tennessee Titans, the Detroit Lions now face the challenge of solidifying their guard position. While Christian Mahogany showed promise in limited action during the 2024 season, the team may still look to bring in a more experienced player to compete for a starting spot.

Uncertainty Surrounding Graham Glasgow

Another concern for Detroit’s offensive line revolves around Graham Glasgow. Though under contract until 2026, his inconsistent play last season has raised questions about whether his best years are behind him. Given these concerns, the Lions would be wise to start preparing for a seamless transition to a younger replacement.

A Possible Answer: Georgia’s Dylan Fairchild

Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network projects that the Lions could target Georgia guard Dylan Fairchild with their compensatory third-round pick. Fairchild played a key role in Georgia’s dominant offensive line for the past two seasons, having been part of their back-to-back national championship teams in 2021 and 2022.
