Following the Detroit Lions’ early playoff exit at the hands of the Washington Commanders, speculation has arisen about the team’s long-term quarterback plans. Despite putting up 31 points, quarterback Jared Goff had a rough outing, committing three interceptions and losing a fumble. His struggles in the postseason were also a recurring theme during his tenure with the Los Angeles Rams.

Although Goff remains under contract through 2028, the Lions may begin looking ahead to the future. Mike Payton of AtoZ Sports has suggested that Detroit could address this in the 2025 NFL Draft. In his recent mock draft, Payton predicts the Lions will take Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe on Day 2.
