The Lions signed OT Jamarco Jones, signed LB Abraham Beauplan, waived/injured OL Connor Galvin, placed DL Nate Lynn on injured reserve, and apparently added another linebacker. To recap, the Lions made a number of roster moves in response to injuries.

Beauplan started all three of his collegiate seasons at Marshall. He racks up 218 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception, and five forced fumbles in that period of time.

Beauplan, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 235 pounds, adds a bit more competition to Detroit is off-ball linebacker group and may be a contender for the SAM linebacker spot. The Lions are a little shorthanded at SAM after removing Mathieu Betts from those duties and after Dan Campbell declared Nate Lynn’s injury from Thursday’s preseason game to be season-ending.

Naturally, Beauplan is not going to have a lot of time to adjust and compete for a position on the 53-man roster. With just two preseason games remaining, Detroit will play its first regular season game in just four weeks.
