FOX 2 in ALLEN PARK, Michigan Following his heroic rescue of a woman who was driving into the water at Lakefront Park last month, a 15-year-old girl from Grosse Pointe got to meet his own hero.

John Agnello met Amon-Ra St. Brown on Monday at the Lions Training Camp in Allen Park, where Agnello was decked out in St. Brown’s jersey.

Agnello was even given a brand-new Lions jersey that the talented wide receiver signed.

“This is fantastic. This is fantastic, home team,” Agnello exclaimed. “St. Brown, one of the best players on the team, if not the best!”

Agnello just so happened to be wearing the same jersey to the training camp when he pulled an elderly woman out of her car and saved her life.

On July 23, Agnello was out walleye and bass fishing in St. Clair Shores when the woman drove into the water. Along with a neighbor, he dashed over and helped pull the woman to safety by smashing the windshield with a rock.

John claims that he still wants to run across the woman he helped. Soon after the event, she was admitted to the hospital.

When St. Brown saw the incident on FOX 2 Detroit, he stated he was in shock.

“It was absurd. Using my phone, I noticed it. I received it from someone who said, “Did you see what just happened? He just pulled a woman in your jersey who was drowning. The Lions player said, “I was like, no way!” “Just him being an amazing person to this world, and him doing it in my Jersey is awesome to see.”

The Lions have showered Agnello with praise, and his new jersey bearing St. Brown’s signature is just one of them. “We are excited to give them, him and his family four tickets to the season opener,” St. Brown said. “So that is going to be amazing, can not wait to see you there!” Agnello responded, “This is great.”
