Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Allen Robinson is to the Motor City and signing to the Detroit Lions practice squad.
Robinson, a Detroit native, comes home for the first time in his career after he was cut by the New York Giants during their training camp.
Even in a reduced role, Robinson might offer the wide receiver support that the Lions have sought. A year earlier, Robinson was used by Pittsburgh as the WR3, but he had trouble separating or assembling any production.

Although Robinson has Pro Bowl appearances on his record, he is no longer the same player who excelled in Jacksonville before going on to become a standout with the Chicago Bears.
