The New York Jets traded for star linebacker Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles after the 2023 season. Reddick hasn’t reported to the Jets while seeking a new contract, resulting in hefty fines.
It’s uncertain if Reddick will ever join the Jets or if he will be traded again. He’s requested a trade, and it seems like a real possibility. As a result, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox suggested the Detroit Lions as a potential destination.
“Haason Reddick remains the top name because his contract dispute with the Jets continues,” said Knox. “Reddick wants a new deal and has requested a trade. He didn’t show up for Monday night’s game against the 49ers. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Reddick has incurred $5 million in fines and is missing game checks worth about $800,000 each.
“It seems unlikely that Reddick will back down before the Jets do… The Lions could make a similar move and should consider adding a top-tier player to pair with Aidan Hutchinson. Detroit’s defense looked strong against the Rams, but with their Super Bowl window just opening, they shouldn’t hesitate to add playmakers if the chance arises.”
