Arizona Prior to the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions, offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum has been declared inactive.
Beachum sustained a hamstring issue during practice this week, so the Cardinals initially graded him as questionable going into the weekend. He gave his full participation on Wednesday, then on Thursday he was limited, and on Friday he missed practice.
Charlie Heck and Jackson Barton, two practice squad tackles for the Cardinals, were promoted to the active roster Wednesday; Beachum will be replaced by any of them. Heck has a ton of prior starting experience, but Barton has spent more time in OC Drew Petzing’s system.
Beachum was Jonah Williams’ and Paris Johnson Jr.’s backup tackle at the beginning of the season.
Beachum has supported the right side of the offensive line ever since Williams was injured in Week 1 after just one quarter of action.
Throughout his 12 complete seasons in the league, Beachum has started 150 games and has both starting and bench experience.
Indeed, you must be. When asked earlier this week if you had to be conscious of where Hutchinson is at, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray responded, “He warrants that, he is a great player.”
“In his brief career, he has accomplished some pretty amazing things. For the remainder of his career, that is who he is and always will be. He is someone we absolutely need to be aware of.
In both of its games to begin 2024, Detroit has limited opponents to exactly 20 points.
Despite being doubtful due to a hamstring ailment, wide receiver Greg Dortch was apparently cleared to play yesterday night.
The game starts at 1:25 PM PST.
