I will be forthright. Professional athletes and in-season podcasts do not appear to go together very well. It seems like we are receiving dubious remarks from NFL players on a weekly basis as a result of them.

This week, there was yet another incident from the St. Brown Podcast that will make New Orleans Saints fans raise an eyebrow. It is likely that NFL fans as a whole would feel the same way about this star wide receiver from the Detroit Lions. St. Brown Amon-Ra.
During the Davante Adams trade discussion, Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to mock the Saints.Amon-Ra expressed his displeasure if Adams is moved to the Saints in a conversation with his brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, a wide receiver on the Saints practice squad. Additionally, he asserts that he guarantees Adams will not visit New Orleans.

Could Davante Adams end up on the New Orleans Saints? If so, he’d be reunited with former teammates Derek Carr and Equanimeous.

Amon-Ra claims that if Davante became a Saint, he would “feel bad” for him.

More quite audacious claims about the Saints from St. Brown. But this is not the first time he is turned supporters of the black and gold against him.

Amon-Ra asserted following Week 2 that the Saints’ lopsided victory over the Dallas Cowboys was the result of chance. It is quite the accomplishment to defeat a squad 44-19 if you are fortunate enough to do so.

“”I am not taking back any of my past remarks.”

“I feel like the Cowboys have those games. They’ll have amazing games then have a horrible game. Most likely, you just witnessed one of their terrible games. I am still not moved by you folks.” — St. Amon-Ra Brown

Not to add, prior to this, Amon-Ra had no problem insulting Dennis Allen (indirectly) and Derek Carr (directly).

The Lions receiver, a rising star in the league’s receiving game, is unwilling to give the Saints any credit at all, for whatever reason. It’s nothing that will influence the thinking of any players, but it’s certainly curiously interesting.

Regarding the culture differences between the Lions and Saints, Jeff Nowak also raised an excellent point.

That being said, the Lions wideout’s doubts do not really concern the older brother of the two.

We are aware of all the trash talk that the Saints have been subjected to since the spring, when everyone started to count us out. All of that was known to us. You counting us out.”

“We’re not on our high horse. For now, we have to concentrate on the Eagles. Even though we have won two games, it is meaningless right now. That has already happened. On to the next match.”

— St. Brown, Equanimeous, at the post-Week 2 conversation

Apart from a Saints aspect, St. Brown’s statement that he would “feel bad” for Adams in a trade to New Orleans is also nonsensical.

Since Derek Carr left, the former All-Pro wide receiver has struggled with his quarterback performance in Las Vegas. Adams’ circumstances and skill set would immediately improve if he could rejoin Carr on a more skilled squad in New Orleans. That is just the way things are.

Either way, it does not appear that the brother of one of the Saints’ own players thinks highly of them.
