The Detroit Lions have faced a series of injuries during the first four games of the 2024 season. Following their bye week, head coach Dan Campbell shared both positive and negative updates regarding the team’s situation.

Starting with the bad news, Campbell indicated that linebacker Derrick Barnes is unlikely to return for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. He mentioned that the team would be fortunate to have Barnes back at any point this year, according to Colton Pouncy of The Athletic.

Barnes sustained the injury during the Lions’ Week 3 victory against the Arizona Cardinals, which led to his placement on injured reserve last week. Prior to the injury, he was having a strong season, building on a breakout performance in 2023.

Despite the setback with Barnes, the Lions will need to focus on the remaining players as they prepare for their upcoming games and look to overcome these challenges throughout the season.
