Dallas Cowboys Trade Pitch Signs $22 Million Cincinnati Bengals WR With 3,866 Receiving Yards and 26 Touchdown Alongside CeeDee Lamb
Brandin Cooks for at least four weeks and now need a No. 2 receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb.
With quarterback Dak Prescott and the passing game expected to carry the offense for the rest of the season, following a shaky 3-2 start,
Dallas has struggled to run the ball and defend the run. Prescott and Lamb secured new contract extensions this offseason, totaling $376 million combined.
However, Prescott and Lamb can’t do it all alone.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report proposed a trade on October 9, suggesting the Cowboys make a move for Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins before the November 5 NFL trade deadline.
“Higgins is a high-end No. 2 receiver who should draw a fair return, even in a market that could be flooded with receiver talent,” Knox wrote. “Dallas may have saved its season with a crucial win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, and it needs a solid complement to CeeDee Lamb. Brandin Cooks was placed on injured reserve after knee surgery.”
Higgins requested a trade from Cincinnati in the offseason after failing to agree on a contract extension.
The Bengals used the franchise tag to retain Higgins through 2024, paying him a $22 million salary.
Higgins recorded two 1,000-yard seasons in his first four years, with 275 receptions for 3,866 yards and 26 touchdowns.
