The Detroit Lions have become a top destination for NFL players focused on winning, putting them in a strong position to find a replacement for the injured Aidan Hutchinson.

However, with the trade deadline approaching on November 5, players don’t have the same freedom they have during the offseason.

While Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby, a Michigan native, can’t choose to join the Lions, Detroit could make a significant offer to Las Vegas to capitalize on their championship window.

This advice came from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on October 16. “Is it worth calling the Raiders about Maxx Crosby, given Las Vegas’ 2-4 start?” Fowler asked. “I doubt they would trade him, but it’s worth a try.”

Detroit could inquire, but Las Vegas would likely only consider a deal if the Lions made a major offer, signaling their seriousness.

FanDuel’s official X account suggested one possible trade on October 16: “The Lions bring Maxx Crosby home. The Raiders get TWO 1st-rounders. Should Detroit & Las Vegas make this trade after Aidan Hutchinson’s injury?”

Crosby, born near Detroit, is currently under a four-year, $94 million contract through 2026. He’s been a Pro Bowler for the last three seasons, earning Second-Team All-Pro honors in 2021 and 2023.

At 27, Crosby has totaled 97 tackles for loss and 57.5 sacks in 88 NFL games, including 82 starts in his six-year career. Crosby, tied for the NFL lead with 9 tackles for loss this season, has also recorded 5.5 sacks despite missing one game due to injury.
