The dominance of Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson at the beginning of the 2024 season is difficult to describe. Hutchinson had a tumultuous pace for an edge rusher in the five weeks before his regular season ended early in a landslide victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
Per Pro Football Reference, the third-year defensive end logged 7.5 sacks, 10 quarterback hurries, nine knockdowns, and 27 total pressures. His performance had a lot of people thinking Hutchinson had a great shot at a Defensive Player of the Year, and others like Steve Palazzolo of The 33rd Team thought Hutchinson was the best player in all of the NFL.In a podcast, Palazzolo stated, “It is Aidan Hutchinson, who is one pressure off the NFL lead, despite missing the last two games, the half game in which he was hurt, and also having a bye (week).”
