Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell addressed key injuries sustained during the game against the Colts.

The Detroit Lions secured a dominant 24-6 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, November 24.

However, the win was overshadowed by a series of injuries during the second half. At times, it seemed like players were leaving the field every few minutes.

The most concerning injury involved wide receiver Kalif Raymond, who suffered a foot injury during a punt return. After being taken to the locker room, he briefly returned to the sideline but was later carried off again and ruled out for the rest of the game.

Dan Campbell has since provided updates on Raymond and the other injured Lions players.

Dan Campbell Discusses Lions’ Injuries

The injured players included Raymond, left tackle Taylor Decker, running back David Montgomery, and cornerback Carlton Davis.

“I don’t have a lot of answers yet,” Campbell said in a postgame press conference. “There were four—Leaf [Raymond], David Montgomery, Decker, and Carlton. Decker came back but was pulled again late. As for Carlton, I’m unsure. I feel okay about three of them.”

He added, “Raymond’s injury might be more serious. That doesn’t guarantee anyone will be ready for Thursday, though. I just don’t know.”

Campbell’s comments about Raymond’s injury being “more serious” are troubling. Further updates are expected in the coming days.

Decker dealt with knee and ankle issues after Goff was shoved into his legs. He briefly left but returned quickly. Montgomery exited without his helmet and pads but later returned to the sideline, though he didn’t re-enter the game. Davis suffered a left knee injury and did not return.

Positive News on David Montgomery

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press shared a promising update on X, noting, “Mostly positive injury updates from the Lions locker room. David Montgomery and Taylor Decker said they’ll be good to go Thursday. Carlton Davis will have imaging tomorrow. Kalif Raymond remains the biggest concern.”

Eric Woodyard of ESPN also reported that Montgomery stated, “I’ll be ready for Thursday. Resting after today’s injury was the smart choice.”

Despite the injuries, the Lions now hold a 10-1 record. With the Thanksgiving game against the Chicago Bears coming up, Detroit faces a short recovery window.
