Jared Goff led the Detroit Lions to a long-overdue Thanksgiving Day victory. Facing the Chicago Bears on Thursday, the quarterback guided his team to a 23-20 win, ending a seven-game Thanksgiving losing streak.
In addition to the victory, Goff earned the Madden Thanksgiving MVP award. He completed 21 of 34 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
Goff’s wife, Christen Harper, attended the game and proudly showcased the QB’s MVP trophy on her Instagram story.
The trophy, engraved with game details, was featured alongside a photo of their Thanksgiving meal, which included a selection of pies.
Christen also shared a video enjoying Shaboozy’s halftime performance and flaunted her game-day outfit: a black jacket, t-shirt, jeans, and a Lions-themed jacket.
“Happy Thanksgiving!!!! & go Lions!” Harper captioned her Instagram story.
During the postgame celebration, Goff enjoyed turkey with his teammates, his MVP trophy at his side. He reflected on the special moment.
“That’s something I’ll never forget. The stuffing was good. We had a great time. It’s awesome. It’s a memory I’ll carry forever,” Goff said.
Jared Goff’s wife Christen Harper touched by kids chanting QB’s name
Before the game, Harper posted a video of Detroit children chanting Goff’s name.
The Sports Illustrated model called it a touching moment and eagerly supported her husband.
“This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
Goff’s popularity in Detroit has soared, with fans hopeful he can guide the team to their first Super Bowl. Despite being one of the oldest NFL franchises, the Lions have never reached or won the championship.
Following their Thanksgiving win, the Lions improved to 11-1, the NFL’s best record, positioning them for a first-round playoff bye.
