Alexander, 30, brings a wealth of experience and a reputation as a versatile inside linebacker. He has spent this season with the Denver Broncos, starting in two games and appearing in one other as a reserve. Most recently, he was part of Denver’s practice squad, awaiting an opportunity to make a more significant impact on an active roster. That chance has now come with Detroit, a team looking to bolster its defense as it pushes for a playoff berth.
The Lions have dealt with a string of injuries in their linebacking unit, forcing them to seek experienced reinforcements.
