The Detroit Lions have made three roster moves ahead of their Week 14 game against the Green Bay Packers. The team announced the signing of wide receiver Maurice Alexander to their 53-man roster, elevating him from the practice squad. This move adds depth to the Lions’ receiving corps as they prepare for the upcoming matchup.

Along with Alexander’s promotion, the Lions also elevated two other players for the Week 14 game. Defensive back Jamal Adams and outside linebacker Mitchell Agude have been moved up from the practice squad for the game against Green Bay. These moves bolster the Lions’ defensive unit as they aim to strengthen their lineup.

Jamal Adams, 29, is a former first-round pick by the New York Jets in the 2017 NFL Draft. He was selected sixth overall out of LSU, a testament to his potential and ability as a defensive back. Adams played out the final year of his rookie contract with the Jets, which was a four-year deal worth $22,256,084. This contract included a sizable signing bonus of $14,326,244.

The Jets later exercised Adams’ fifth-year option, but his tenure in New York ended when he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. The trade package sent to the Jets included two first-round picks. Shortly after the trade, Seattle secured Adams’ future by signing him to a four-year, $70 million extension in August 2021, ensuring his role as a key contributor to their defense.

In 2024, Adams has played in three games for the Tennessee Titans. Though he has faced challenges in terms of playing time, he has managed to record four tackles in the games he has participated in. His experience and talent remain valuable assets, and his elevation to the Lions’ roster will provide a boost to their secondary.

These moves reflect the Lions’ focus on strengthening their roster as they approach critical games in the season. The addition of Alexander and the elevation of Adams and Agude signal the team’s commitment to maintaining a competitive edge and addressing depth needs as they prepare for their matchup with th

e Packers.
