The Detroit Lions are dealing with a wave of injuries, impacting key players on both offense and defense in recent weeks.

The defensive unit has been particularly affected, with significant injuries hitting defensive tackle Alim McNeill and cornerback Carlton Davis III during Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills and their star quarterback Josh Allen.

On Monday, a former Lions player familiar to fans sparked speculation about a return to Dan Campbell’s squad with a cryptic post on X.

“The secret of success is to be ready when your opportunity comes,” Jacobs posted on X at 12:47 p.m. ET, accompanied by three red ‘100’ emojis.

By early Tuesday morning, the post had surpassed 100,000 views as Lions fans reeled from the team’s 48-42 loss to Buffalo, led by Allen’s stellar performance.

“Come home,” responded Woodward Sports, a Metro Detroit-based page, amplifying the excitement.

“You ready? Hear the Lions might be thin at CB!” another fan replied.

“Man please tell me Brad Holmes got you on speed dial. This team needs you, should’ve never cut you to begin with,” wrote another fan.

The 5-foot-11, 203-pound cornerback was released by the Rams in August. He spent three seasons with Detroit, last appearing in 2023, where he recorded 55 tackles, three interceptions, and eight passes defended under Campbell’s leadership.
