The Detroit Lions have signed former Colts linebacker Grant Stuard, known for his strong special teams play. Stuard revealed the move on Instagram, confirming he’s joining the Lions.

The 26-year-old was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the 2021 draft, where he primarily contributed to special teams during his rookie season. He was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2022, continuing his special teams role and eventually earning a captaincy. Last season, due to injuries on the Colts’ defense, Stuard also started five games as a linebacker.

Looking to strengthen their defense and special teams after a challenging year, the Lions aim to add depth with Stuard, who offers value on both fronts at an affordable cost.
