The Detroit Lions have re-signed linebacker Mitchell Agude, securing his return for the 2025 season. Agude, who was set to become an exclusive rights free agent, was initially not tendered a contract by the team. Despite this, he will continue with the Lions.

Agude, 26, originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2023. After being waived by Miami in August, he was signed to Detroit’s practice squad in September of the same year. He remained with the team through the 2024 training camp, then rejoined the practice squad after the final roster cuts in August. With several injuries affecting the linebacker corps, Agude was promoted to the 53-man roster later in the season. He played in four games, primarily on special teams, recording three total tackles and a forced fumble during 55 special teams snaps and 40 defensive snaps.
