The Detroit Lions have kept a low profile during the offseason, opting not to make any major moves in free agency or the trade market. This approach has left some fans frustrated, especially after the team’s disappointing playoff exit. Following back-to-back NFC North titles, many believe Detroit should be more aggressive in pursuit of a Super Bowl.
Despite the lack of blockbuster moves, players remain optimistic. One of them is cornerback Terrion Arnold, who took to social media to remind fans that there’s still plenty of time for general manager Brad Holmes to strengthen the roster.
Holmes has played a key role in transforming the Lions from an afterthought into a legitimate contender in just three years. His strategy has centered on building through the draft rather than committing to massive contracts in free agency. While some may be hoping for a final splash in player acquisitions, it’s likely that Detroit will once again look to the draft as a primary means of improvement. Arnold’s message reflects that reality.
Terrion Arnold Displays Offseason Training Progress
For Arnold, the upcoming season is a crucial one. After a rookie campaign with its fair share of highs and lows, Detroit expects him to take a big leap in his second year. To meet those expectations, he’s dedicating himself to offseason training and refining his skills.
Recently, Arnold posted a video showcasing his workouts, demonstrating his commitment to bouncing back after the Lions’ playoff disappointment. His stats from 2024—60 tackles and no interceptions—may not have been eye-catching, but his potential remains undeniable.
Newly signed cornerback D.J. Reed has expressed confidence in Arnold, believing that his skill set and aggressive playstyle make him a future star.
“He’s still young. It was his rookie year. I thought Terrion (Arnold) played well. Obviously, he was handsy, which is something that can be corrected. That’s totally fixable. As far as talent, as far as being sticky; there was a reason why he was drafted in the first round. He’s going to be very good in my opinion. I think he’s a Pro Bowl, All-Pro type of guy,” Reed said.
Beyond his athletic ability, Arnold has also shown leadership qualities, encouraging fans to trust in Holmes’ vision for the team. With time left in the offseason, the Lions’ general manager may still have more moves up his sleeve.
