Terrion Arnold, a standout cornerback for the Detroit Lions, recently expressed his frustration with the NFL’s recent decision involving his teammate Brian Branch. Last season, the Lions’ secondary was among the most dynamic and underappreciated in the league, but injuries took their toll, especially during the playoffs.
Two key contributors to Detroit’s defense were Branch, a former second-round pick from Alabama, and Arnold, a former first-round pick who also played alongside Branch in college. The pair did their best to support the team as injuries piled up, but they couldn’t quite get the Lions over the playoff hurdle.
On Wednesday, Arnold took to social media to support Branch, suggesting that the young defensive back could see a career trajectory similar to that of Kerby Joseph, one of their fellow defensive standouts. “Brian Branch will be an All-Pro next season,” Arnold wrote, sharing his confidence in Branch’s future.
As the Lions head into the 2024 season, their secondary faces some changes. However, with additions like former Jets defensive back DJ Reed and the potential development of second-year player Ennis Rakestraw, Detroit’s defense could be poised for a breakout year under head coach Dan Campbell.
