The Las Vegas Raiders have long struggled to retain talented players. Over the years, stars like Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, and Khalil Mack have thrived elsewhere, much to the frustration of Raider Nation. However, losing lesser-known contributors has also impacted the team, and one such case was Rock Ya-Sin.

Ya-Sin had a solid stint with the Raiders in 2022, despite injuries limiting his availability. Yet, the team chose not to bring him back, and their secondary suffered as a result. Although he hasn’t become a standout elsewhere, he has remained on an NFL roster every season.

On Thursday, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo announced that Ya-Sin had signed with the Detroit Lions, where he’ll reunite with former Raiders teammate Amik Robertson.

During his lone season in Las Vegas, Ya-Sin appeared in nine games, recording 45 tackles and defending seven passes. The Indianapolis Colts originally selected him in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he spent his first three years there before being traded to the Raiders.

Injuries have prevented Ya-Sin from playing a full season, though he managed 14 and 13 games, respectively, over the past two years with the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. Now, he joins a young and energetic Detroit secondary under a new defensive coordinator following Aaron Glenn’s departure.
