The New York Giants’ edge rusher hasn’t yet lived up to expectations, with only one season in which he surpassed a 70.0 PFF pass-rush grade. However, a change of scenery could unlock his full potential. With the looming decision on his fifth-year option and contract extension, the Giants might consider moving him now to maximize his trade value. Detroit has the right environment and cap space to both develop Thibodeaux and sign him to an extension if needed.”
Why This Trade Could Be Beneficial for Detroit
Though Thibodeaux’s 2024 season was hindered by injuries, he still managed to record 5.5 sacks in 12 games. The Lions have fostered a defensive culture that could help him reach his full potential.
