Cornerback Rasul Douglas, who has spent over a season with the Buffalo Bills, might soon be on the move. Despite their need for a reliable presence opposite Christian Benford, the Bills have yet to bring Douglas back, leaving him available in free agency. As things stand, he appears likely to play elsewhere in 2025.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report recently speculated that Douglas could end up with the Detroit Lions. While Detroit has already made key additions to its secondary by signing D.J. Reed and Rock Ya-Sin, the team also lost Carlton Davis in free agency and faced depth challenges last season. Knox suggests that adding Douglas could further solidify the unit.

Douglas had a strong start with Buffalo in 2023 but struggled in 2024, allowing a 72.9% completion rate and a 122 passer rating when targeted. Even with those struggles, Buffalo might still consider bringing him back, as their recent addition of Dane Jackson has not fully addressed their cornerback concerns.

However, financial constraints could prevent the Bills from making a move. With only $2.2 million in cap space, per Over the Cap, they may not have the flexibility to offer Douglas a competitive contract. Though Spotrac projects his value at three years and $35.7 million, his market price may end up lower given the timing of free agency.
