Mark Pope and his coaching staff have been busy on the recruiting trail this week, working hard to assemble a strong transfer class for the upcoming season. While several names have been thrown around (some with little to no interest in Kentucky), the Big Blue Nation (BBN) is eager for some commitments to start rolling in. A few players are getting close to making a decision, but one high-profile name has recently caught the attention of UK staff: Jacksonville State guard Jaron Pierre.

Pierre, a 6-foot-5, 188-pound guard from New Orleans, played just one season with the Gamecocks, but his standout performance earned him Conference USA Player of the Year honors. He averaged 21.6 points per game on 42.4% shooting from the field, including a solid 38% from beyond the arc. Additionally, he contributed 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

According to a source close to Pierre, he is “definitely” interested in Kentucky, and the recruiting process could be heating up. With some guard targets slipping away and the situation with Silas Demary Jr. still uncertain, the UK staff is actively looking for another star to add to their backcourt next season. Pierre could be the perfect addition to fill that role. Keep an eye on this situation over the coming weeks.
