Lions Fans Moved by Terrion Arnold’s Emotional Tribute to Late Former Teammate
The Detroit Lions are shaping up to have a dominant defense in the upcoming 2025-2026 NFL season, with key players like DJ Reader and Aidan Hutchinson expected to return at full strength. Alongside them, young talents such as Terrion Arnold and Brian Branch are anticipated to play crucial roles in keeping Detroit at the top of the NFC North.
On Tuesday, second-year cornerback Terrion Arnold took to social media to honor his late friend and former Alabama teammate, Khyree Jackson, who tragically passed away in a car accident in July 2024. Arnold revealed that he changed his jersey number as a tribute to Jackson, offering a touching message that resonated deeply with Lions fans.
“It’s just that extra push when I look down and see the number 6,” Arnold said via the team’s Facebook page. “It reminds me that my brother is living on through me.”
Fans quickly responded with heartfelt messages. One commented, “We love you no matter what number you wear!” Another wrote, “A beautiful way to remember your friend,” accompanied by a heart emoji. Others praised Arnold’s gesture, calling it a “powerful tribute.”
Jackson, who played college football at Alabama with Arnold, died in a car crash on July 6, 2024. The accident involved 23-year-old Cory Clingman, who now faces 13 criminal charges, including DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
