Joseph’s Deal Sets New NFL Standard
Following a dominant campaign in which he led the NFL in interceptions, Joseph agreed to a four-year, $86 million extension that will keep him in Detroit through the 2029 season. The deal now makes him the highest-paid safety in NFL history. But for Joseph, it’s about more than just money.

“I never played for money. I play because I love football,” he said. “Of course the money is a blessing, but it’s never been my reason. This game just lives in me — it’s something I can’t ever walk away from.”
That unshakable passion has propelled Joseph from being a third-round pick in the 2022 draft to becoming a premier safety in the league. His nine interceptions last season topped the NFL and earned him a First-Team All-Pro nod.

“Now I want to beat my own record. I had nine picks, now I’m going for 10 — maybe add a few sacks too,” he said with a grin. “I’m always pushing for more. I want to leave a legacy.”
