Detroit Lions signal-caller Jared Goff is gearing up for what could be a breakout campaign. After falling to the Washington Commanders in last year’s divisional round, Detroit is setting its sights on a deeper postseason push—and Goff is ready to lead the charge.

Goff is among the featured players in Netflix’s upcoming season of Quarterback, a docu-series spotlighting NFL QBs on and off the field. The newly released teaser for Season 2 has stirred plenty of anticipation among football fans, with other marquee names like Joe Burrow and Kirk Cousins also making appearances.

One standout moment in the trailer features audio from none other than Tom Brady. The legendary quarterback, now retired, reflects on his admiration for modern offensive systems.

“I’d love to be the quarterback of this offense. It’s just so much fun,” Brady says in the clip.

Goff’s response comes moments later—and it’s dripping with playful sarcasm.

“Yeah, too bad, Tom. You’re retired,” Goff replies, clearly enjoying the jab.

The second season of Quarterback will be available to stream starting July 8. With Goff now entrenched as the Lions’ starter after his move from the Los Angeles Rams, the series is expected to dive into the personal and professional journeys of each featured quarterback.

Goff Embracing Leadership Role in Detroit

The Lions have made it clear: Jared Goff is their guy. As the team continues building around him, Goff is embracing his leadership role and adapting to changes in the offensive system. That includes working closely with newly appointed offensive coordinator John Morton.

Describing their collaboration, Goff shared:
“It’s exciting. It’s a challenge, for sure—but a good one. We’re figuring each other out, how he likes to communicate, how he sees things. It’s a process, but it’s fun getting better together every day.”

Head coach Dan Campbell also spoke highly of the growing partnership between Goff and Morton.

“I think the chemistry is there. They’ve been working closely this offseason, fine-tuning things and making sure they’re aligned,” Campbell said. “Everything starts with the quarterback in our system, especially with Jared. He’s in a good place.”

As the season approaches, all eyes will be on Goff to guide Detroit through what fans hope will be a special year.
