Kelly Stafford Addresses Podcast Co-Host Hank Winchester’s Sexual Misconduct Allegations
Kelly Stafford has spoken out for the first time about the sexual misconduct allegations involving her The Morning After podcast co-host, Hank Winchester.
“I know things have seemed a little different with TMA lately,” Kelly, 36, said on the episode released Friday, July 18. “Summer has been hectic—I’ve been on the road a lot, and Hank has been handling personal matters. We appreciate your patience.”
Since the allegations surfaced last month, Winchester has only appeared in select guest interview episodes and has been absent from regular weekly content. In his absence, Kelly’s husband, NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams, has filled in on several episodes.
Kelly hinted that Winchester’s return may be imminent. “Football season is nearly here,” she said. “You’ll be hearing plenty from us soon—it’s been a lot for everyone.”
The controversy stems from a June 13 police raid on Winchester’s Michigan home as part of a sexual misconduct investigation. According to Fox 2 Detroit, law enforcement seized electronic devices following claims that Winchester made inappropriate sexual advances during a massage session.
Winchester, who is a veteran journalist at WDIV Local 4 in Detroit and has been studying massage therapy, was placed on administrative leave by the station on June 18. He has not been seen on air since.
“While the investigation remains open, we won’t be commenting further,” WDIV said in a public statement.
Winchester’s attorney, Todd Flood, strongly denied the allegations, telling Fox 2, “Hank has dedicated years to informing and protecting our community. With his high-profile role, he’s vulnerable to unfounded accusations. We are confident this investigation will be dismissed.”
Winchester and Kelly developed a friendship during Matthew’s time with the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2020. The Morning After podcast launched in 2021.
In Friday’s episode, Kelly also spoke about her family’s recent trips to Georgia and Montana. “If you have the chance to road trip to Montana—do it,” she said. “That place brings your stress level down to zero. It’s all about nature, getting your kids outside, and letting them get messy.”
Kelly and Matthew have four daughters: 8-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler, 6-year-old Hunter, and 5-year-old Tyler
