The Detroit Lions were forced to cut short another practice session following a string of on-field altercations, and at the heart of the chaos was none other than star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Recognized as one of the NFL’s elite pass catchers, St. Brown is now drawing intense criticism after reportedly engaging in a heated exchange with a teammate.

According to sources, tempers flared during the early stages of the session, prompting head coach Dan Campbell to once again halt team activities — marking the second consecutive day practice was prematurely stopped due to internal scuffles.

“What’s Going On?” Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown Under Fire After Tension-Filled Training Camp Clash

The incident involved St. Brown and defensive standout Brian Branch, both of whom reportedly had multiple confrontations. The Athletic’s Colton Pouncy confirmed the report, stating:

“Dan Campbell stopped practice today after several scuffles broke out in the early portion. Brian Branch and Amon-Ra St. Brown went at it multiple times. Second day in a row practice was stopped. On Tuesday, it was for tackling in shorts. Pads go on tomorrow. They’re ready.”

The timing of the dustup is especially notable, as St. Brown enters training camp fresh off a record-setting season. He was recently honored with a spot on Pro Football Focus’s top 100 player rankings after finishing second in the league in receptions (115), third in touchdown catches (12), and fifth in total receiving yards (1,263).

On the other side of the altercation, Branch has also made his presence felt in Detroit’s defense. In just his second NFL season, the young defensive back posted eye-popping stats — 109 total tackles, four interceptions, 16 pass deflections, and a sack, proving himself as a cornerstone of the Lions’ secondary.

The Lions are coming off a dream-like 2024 regular season, boasting a 15-2 record and claiming the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Yet despite high expectations, their playoff journey was cut short in the Divisional Round by the Washington Commanders.

As Detroit prepares for another potential title run, internal discipline and team unity will be crucial. With tensions already flaring in camp, all eyes will be on how this emotionally charged squad bounces back from the early preseason drama.
