Linebacker Alex Anzalone won’t be getting a brand-new contract just yet, but the Detroit Lions have adjusted his current deal with a modest pay bump. According to Field Yates of ESPN, the team has increased Anzalone’s 2025 base salary by $250,000, raising it from $6 million to $6.25 million. That full amount is now guaranteed.
In addition to the salary boost, new incentive clauses have been added to the agreement, though the specific terms of those bonuses haven’t been revealed.
Anzalone had been sidelined early in training camp due to a hamstring issue but has since returned to practice. The timing of the contract adjustment suggests the Lions expect him to play a key role heading into the final year of his contract in Detroit.
