Football Returns Tonight: How to Watch the Detroit Lions in the 2025 Hall of Fame Game
The wait is over—NFL football is officially back as the 2025 Hall of Fame Game kicks off tonight in Canton, Ohio.
The preseason opener features the Detroit Lions facing off against the Los Angeles Chargers as part of the annual Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week. This year’s ceremony will honor new inductees including Eric Allen, Jared Allen, Antonio Gates, and Sterling Sharpe.
The game will be broadcast live on NBC, and fans can also stream it online.
While most of the starters are not expected to play, fans are eager to see fresh talent on the field and to get a preview of the Lions’ new roster additions. It’s the first taste of NFL action since February’s Super Bowl.
The Lions ended their impressive 2024 season with a 15-2 record, capturing their second consecutive NFC North title and clinching the No. 1 playoff seed for the first time in franchise history. However, their postseason run was cut short by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders in the divisional round.
As for the Chargers, they secured a wild card berth with an 11-6 record, but were knocked out early in the playoffs by the Houston Texans.
