The top priority for Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers this offseason is still five-star wide receiver Easton Royal from New Orleans (La. ) Brother Martin, as the program ramps up its efforts to persuade the Texas Longhorns recruit to switch allegiances.

Royal has watched as Southeastern Conference schools have ramped up their efforts to flip the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2027 Recruiting Cycle in what has been a tumultuous offseason for him.

Despite the fact that the 200-pound, 5-foot-11er announced his dedication to Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns on November 29, other teams like the Florida Gators, Tennessee Volunteers, Ole Miss Rebels, and LSU Tigers have continued to stay in touch with him.

Throughout the day at school, all of my pals are pressuring me to switch to the LSU Tigers, Royal told Fox 8 New Orleans. Because this procedure may only be done once, I’m devoted to Texas, but I’m still debating whether it’s the best option for me.

Choosing the best option for me and my family is the ultimate aim.

I’m getting to know Coach Lane [Kiffin]. He frequently sends me texts, videos, and encouragement, and tries to persuade me to join the LSU Tigers, all in an effort to wish me a nice week.

Since the leadership change this offseason with Kiffin at the helm, the Tigers have continued to woo Royal, from his family and friends to other LSU commits.

Peyton Houston is now being promoted as the top wide receiver in the United States by a different voice.

After announcing his commitment to the program last fall, the four-star quarterback from Shreveport (La. ) Evangel Christian has grown into a crucial recruiter for the LSU Tigers.

With Kiffin and Co. stepping up their pursuit of Houston this offseason, the 5-foot-10, 202-pound dual-threat signal-caller has grown into the No. 2 rated prospect at his position.

However, as the offseason goes, Houston is also increasing the pressure on other LSU Tigers goals, notably Royal:

With the offseason in full swing, Kiffin and the Bayou Bengals are still heavily pursuing Royal, and Houston is helping the program in its effort to win over the Texas Longhorns commitment.
