Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, have been open about their struggles with infertility and their commitment to helping others facing similar challenges. After welcoming twin daughters through in vitro fertilization (IVF) in 2016, the couple turned their experience into a mission to support families on their own fertility journeys.

This week, that mission came full circle in a heartwarming way. Kelly shared on Instagram the joyful news of a baby named “Stafford,” born to Jakob and Mikayla—the recipients of the 2024 Brilora Stafford IVF Grant. “Welcome baby Stafford ❤️,” she captioned, expressing her happiness over the family’s miracle child.

Jakob and Mikayla named their son “Stafford” in honor of Matthew and Kelly, whose generosity helped make his birth possible. The Brilora Fertility Foundation also celebrated the occasion, describing the newborn as “a symbol of what can happen when hope is met with compassion.” The touching story reflects how the Staffords’ kindness continues to inspire and change lives.

The Staffords’ Ongoing Fertility Mission

Matthew and Kelly are proud parents of four daughters—twins Sawyer and Chandler, along with Hunter and Tyler. Beyond their own family, the couple has made it their mission to support others through IVF funding programs. Partnering with Chosen Fertility Group, they sponsor two fertility grants: one through the Michigan Center for Fertility & Women’s Health and another dedicated to families within a 40-mile range of Los Angeles.

Earlier this year, they attended Chosen Fertility’s “In the Spirits of Infertility” gala in Los Angeles, co-hosted by HRC Fertility. The couple continues to raise awareness that one in six couples faces infertility struggles, encouraging open conversation and emotional support within that community.

Kelly, who now serves as the board chair for the Brilora Fertility Foundation, often speaks about how infertility leaves a lasting mark. “Even though our own journey is behind us, it’s a community you’re forever part of,” she shared.

Beyond football, the Staffords’ legacy continues to grow through their compassion and advocacy. With the birth of baby Stafford Torrey—a child made possible through their foundation—the full impact of their efforts shines through, proving how empathy and generosity can spark new beginnings for countless families.
