Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is making a strong case for NFL MVP 2025, and his performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night only reinforced his frontrunner status.

Stafford, who won a Super Bowl in his first season with the Rams, continues to put up elite numbers in 2025. Through 11 games, he leads the league with 30 touchdown passes and just two interceptions, making him a clear favorite in the MVP race.

In the Rams’ 34-7 rout of the Buccaneers, Stafford threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions, fueling chants of “MVP” from the SoFi Stadium crowd. When asked about the fan reaction, Stafford humbly responded:

“Yeah, I did. That was cool. That was awesome. Our fans did a great job showing up. Both sides of the ball gave them something to cheer about early and often. It was a tough environment for Tampa, and we appreciate that, so it was great.”

Stafford has been trading the MVP spotlight with Drake Maye, but his streak of 27 consecutive touchdown passes without an interception is giving him a decisive edge. While the New England Patriots might have one more win than the Rams, Stafford’s individual performance is currently unmatched – a major factor in MVP voting.

If Stafford maintains this level of play over the final six games, he could secure the NFL Most Valuable Player award for the first time in his career, further cementing his legacy as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
