The drought has ended in Tallahassee.

Florida State has maintained consistent recruiting activity this summer, but those efforts have not always resulted in pledges. It has been 64 days since the Seminoles added to Tribe27.

Hard work always pays off, regardless of whether you have to climb first.

In the first days of April, Florida State landed a fantastic two-way player.

Three-star athlete Da’Yon Cooper selects FSU over Tennessee and other universities.

According to Noles247, three-star player DaYon Cooper declared his decision to Florida State on Saturday afternoon, choosing it above Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Louisville, and Wake Forest, among others.

Cooper was on campus to see the Seminoles’ second spring scrimmage, his first visit to Tallahassee. He recently received an offer from Florida State in February, and the program immediately stepped up its efforts to recruit him.

The senior is headed in the correct direction, having assisted South Pittsburg High School to a state title last season. He matured into a playmaker on both sides of the field, amassing 1,252 yards and 17 touchdowns. Cooper received the Tennessee Titans Class 1A Mr. Football Award.

Cooper has the ability to play both wide receiver and defensive back at the collegiate level. He is anticipated to play cornerback for the Seminoles.

According to the 247Sports Composite Ratings, the 6-foot-0, 180-pound player is the No. 535 overall prospect, the No. 36 ATH, and the No. 35 recruit in Tennessee in the 2027 class.

Cooper is the third defensive back to join Tribe27. Four-star Mekhi Williams and three-star Jemari Foreman are expected to play safety at the collegiate level.
