As a member of the 2026 class, former Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy will be inducted into the Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame this summer.

Prior to retiring last summer at the mandatory retirement age mandated by the club, Murphy, 70, served as President and CEO of the Packers for 17 years. During Murphy’s tenure, the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2011 and were one of the league’s most successful clubs. Murphy contributed millions to initiatives and amenities to support Lambeau Field off the field, as well as assisting in the development of the Titletown site. Bringing the NFL Draft to Green Bay last April was one of his greatest achievements with the squad. Along with OL Earl Dotson and DB Tramon Williams, Murphy was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame last August.
Murphy told the Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame that he is “really humbled and honored” to be inducted. “The Packers are the best and most distinctive team in all of professional sports. I am quite happy with all that we accomplished during my tenure, both on and off the pitch.
Murphy is now the Executive in Residence at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he is trying to enhance the school’s athletic offerings. Prior to joining the Packers in 2007, Murphy worked as an athletic director at Colgate University, where he graduated, and Northwestern University. Prior to that, he spent eight years in the NFL playing for Washington, where he earned a Super Bowl ring.
The Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame is celebrating its 76th anniversary this year with “an annual celebration that honors the state’s most accomplished athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors whose achievements have left a lasting impact on Wisconsin sports,” as it is described. Past Packers inductees include Charles Woodson, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, Brett Favre, Bart Starr, Reggie White, and Vince Lombardi.
The ceremony will be held in Milwaukee’s Marcus Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
