The best way for Mike Norvell to keep his job is to bring a top-tier quarterback into the program and onto the field.
So, when four-star quarterback Jake Nawrot stated that some of the Seminoles coaches compared his talents to one of the Seminoles greats, it should raise some eyebrows.
I would say sometimes Jordan Travis. According to Nawrot, they would provide some input into play creation for Zach Blostein of 247Sports. Otherwise, there was no one with whom they compared me to for their attack. They simply informed me that I might play.
Jake Nawrot, the nation’s No. 6 quarterback, was offered by FSU less than a month ago.
He made his first trip to Tallahassee this week.
What is the Seminoles’ current position?
Nawrot is the most recent QB candidate to pass through spring training this week, following a revolving door of QB hopefuls. He stands 6-foot-4, weighs 200 pounds, and attends high school in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights. That’s the same city where Israel Abrams, an additional FSU quarterback prospect, performs.
FSU supporters may have to watch a lot of Chicagoland high school football this year.
Norvell has been seeking for Abrams for some time, but Nawrot is a more recent contender. He received an offer last month and decided to travel to Tallahassee for a lengthy visit over the last several days.
4-star quarterback Jake Nawrot visits FSU this spring.
Nawrot received his offer from the Seminoles last month, and the quarterback excelled at showcase camps to the point where he is now a five-star recruit.
FSU is competing with Kansas State, Washington, and others, but Oregon, Kentucky, and Iowa may provide the most opposition. Norvell is likely playing catch-up in this recruitment, but bringing Nawrot on campus for a few days is never a bad thing, and if they can get an official visit over the summer, everything is still in play. Nawrot will visit Oregon next week, and I believe we will have a better sense of how serious the Seminoles are in his recruitment after that trip.
