After losing four of their starters to the transfer portal and graduation, the Wisconsin Badgers must go all-in on the transfer market.
The team has a few inexperienced players who might make an influence on this roster. Still, veteran head coach Greg Gard is well aware that he needs to locate impact players in the portal if the club is to compete.
Since the portal opened earlier this week, several Wisconsin natives have entered it, but this is the most recent couple that Gard might pursue ahead of the 2026-27 season.
- Will Hornseth
One of the most intriguing parts of courting the Northern Iowa forward is the fact that he has previously played with Badgers guard Zach Kinziger. The two were invincible as a team at De Pere High School.!
According to Sam Kayser, Hornseth joined the portal with a do not contact tag. That implies he most likely already has a destination in mind.
Either way, he is a 6-foot-8 sophomore who may join Wisconsin with two years of eligibility. He is new off a season in which he played all 35 games, averaging 11. 1 points, 4. 6 rebounds, and 2. 2 assists each game.
- Nick Janowski.
Kayser also stated that Janowski would be entering the portal after being named First Team All-Summit League at St. Thomas.
Janowski began his career at Nebraska, where he was redshirted. Now, he might be considering a return to the Big Ten. The Pewaukee, WI, native has three years of eligibility remaining and performed brilliantly with the Tommies as a redshirt freshman.
The 6-foot-4 guard played all 34 games for the 2025-26 season, finishing second on the club with 16. 1 points and first with 5. 1 rebounds per game.
