Phillies Injury Updates

RHP Zack Wheeler had right shoulder surgery.

Status: On rehabilitation assignment.

Phillies starter Zack Wheeler had thoracic outlet syndrome decompression surgery in September 2025. He hasn’t pitched in a major league game since August 15. His venous TOS diagnosis was revealed on August 23. Wheeler did not pitch during the 2025 playoffs.

On April 8, Wheeler made his third rehab start with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He gave up only one run in 4 1/3 innings. He threw 61 pitches in all, with a maximum fastball speed of 94. 3 mph. Wheeler will make at least one more rehab start. As Ty Daubert said, where it will be is unknown.

C J. T. Realmuto (bruised right foot).

Status: Day-to-day

Next week, the Lehigh Valley will be in St. Paul, Minnesota. Double-A Reading is located in Somerset, New Jersey. The Phillies might let him pitch locally to avoid the weather in Minnesota. J. T. Realmuto departed the game on Tuesday, April 7 after suffering a foul ball to his right foot. In the top of the second inning, he was replaced by pinch hitter Rafael Marchan. Realmuto did not participate in the Giants series finale on April 8.

Following the game in San Francisco, Realmuto told reporters, including MLB. com’s Todd Zolecki, that he expects to play against the Diamondbacks in Philadelphia on Friday, April 10. (Last updated on April 9, Destiny Lugardo)

INF Aidan Miller (low back soreness).

Status: Seven-day minor-league injured list.

Miller has not appeared in a Grapefruit League game this spring and begins the season on the Triple-A injured list.

Miller is finally swinging a bat, according to MLB. com writer Todd Zolecki on April 9. When Zolecki inquired whether Miller got a shot to address his painful back, baseball operations president Dave Dombrowski refused to comment, citing HIPAA.

“We’re pleased with his progress,” Dombrowski told Zolecki in San Francisco. “He’s happy with his progress. We are with him every single day. We observe and treat him. He’s doing fine, right?

RHP Max Lazar (left oblique strain)

Status: 15-day injured list

Lazar departed the World Baseball Classic early due to an oblique ailment and began the season in the major leagues. IL. —Last modified on March 29 by Ty Daubert.

Of Gabriel Rincones, Jr. (Knee Soreness)
Status: Seven-day minor league wounded list.
Rincones Jr. , a power-hitting prospect, missed Grapefruit League and began the season on the injured list. Contreras stated that he suffered knee problems last year, but a flare-up has kept him off the field. — Last updated March 29, Ty Daubert.

RHP Daniel Robert (cardiac event)

Status: Injured minor-league list, 60 days.

Robert had a cardiac incident on the mound near the conclusion of spring training, causing his implantable cardioverter defibrillator to activate. He was discharged from the hospital the same day. Robert had a cardiac episode in the autumn that required CPR and defibrillation.
