Of course, trading for Williams isn’t without risk. He’s had some off-field concerns, and a significant contract extension will be on the horizon. But for a team trying to maximize Herbert’s prime years, adding a young, dynamic wideout like Williams could be worth the gamble.

Even so, it’s hard to see Lions GM Brad Holmes giving up on a rising star so soon—especially after the breakout year he just had. Unless Detroit adds another top-tier receiver in the draft, expect Williams to be catching passes in a Lions uniform come 2025
