
Mackenzie Mgbako, a former McDonald’s All-American and 5-star recruit, is set to visit Kentucky as part of his transfer portal process. After spending two seasons with Indiana, Mgbako was originally committed to Duke before ultimately joining the Hoosiers. He was highly sought after in the 2023 recruiting class, ranked 10th overall and 2nd among power forwards, with offers from top programs like Kentucky, Kansas, Auburn, North Carolina, and UCLA.
During his time at Indiana, the 6-foot-9, 222-pound forward averaged 12.2 points per game, shooting 43.7% from the field and 32.9% from three. He also contributed 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest. In his freshman year, Mgbako posted similar numbers, with 12.2 points, 39.5% shooting, and 32.7% from deep, along with 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
This season, Mgbako primarily played at the 4 position after spending a significant portion of the previous year at the 3 spot. His versatility could provide Kentucky with much-needed depth in multiple areas.
