The Kentucky Wildcats recently concluded their first season under new head coach Mark Pope, who stepped in following John Calipari’s long and successful run. In his debut year, Pope guided the team to a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. However, their postseason ended with a 78-65 loss to Tennessee in the Sweet 16, after notching wins over Troy and Illinois.

As the offseason begins, Kentucky is facing a key roster change. One of their top offensive talents, Koby Brea, has decided to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft.

In a heartfelt message, Brea expressed his gratitude and reflected on his journey. “Everyone’s path is unique, and I wouldn’t trade mine for anything,” he wrote. “Each experience, both the highs and lows, helped shape who I am today. Though it’s tough to say goodbye, I’m thrilled to take the next step in my career.”

Brea extended thanks to his coaches, teammates, family, and supporters from both Dayton and Kentucky, as well as to God for guiding him through his journey. “To all those who’ve supported me—Flyer Nation, Big Blue Nation, my loved ones—thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he added.

After spending four years at Dayton, Brea transferred to Kentucky for his final collegiate season, where he posted averages of 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
