Antonio Reeves Signs Two-Way Deal with Charlotte Hornets

Former Kentucky standout Antonio Reeves is taking the next step in his NBA journey, signing a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets, as first reported by Shams Charania. Reeves, who became a fan favorite during his time in Lexington, had a productive rookie campaign with the New Orleans Pelicans.

In 44 games last season, the 2024 second-round draft pick put up 6.9 points per contest while shooting an impressive 40% from beyond the arc. His performance showed flashes of promise, particularly to those who followed his college career at Kentucky.

With this move, Reeves fills the final two-way slot on Charlotte’s roster, joining fellow two-way players KJ Simpson and Drew Peterson. Hornets president of basketball operations, Jeff Peterson, appears to be focusing on acquiring affordable yet potentially impactful talent, and Reeves fits that mold.

Kentucky fans fondly remember Reeves’ big moments in college — especially his 21-point performance in a dominant win over Auburn. Seeing him find success in the pros is exciting for Big Blue Nation, and fans will be eager to watch how he develops in Charlotte.

Once again, another Wildcat is making waves in the league — and Reeves might just be the next one to break out.
