Lions QB Jared Goff Delivers Strong Comments on New Detroit Offensive Coordinator John Morton.

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff was named the Pro Bowl’s most valuable offensive player after completing 10 of 11 passes for 126 yards and three touchdowns, helping Eli Manning and the NFC secure their third straight victory.

During the event, the veteran quarterback spoke with SiriusXM about his initial reaction to the Lions hiring John Morton as their new offensive coordinator.

“We worked together in 2022 when he was an assistant on our staff. He’s been a coordinator before and has a lot of experience in this league, working with some great coaches,” Goff said. “I’m excited to collaborate with him and see what we can accomplish.”

The 30-year-old was also asked about Ben Johnson leaving to become the Chicago Bears’ next head coach. Under Johnson, Goff experienced some of the best statistical success of his career.

“He’s an incredible coach who has had a huge impact on my career. I’m obviously a big fan of his. I joked with him that I wish he weren’t in our division so I wouldn’t have to face him twice a year,” Goff said. “But he’ll do a great job—hopefully not too great, since we’re division rivals. Regardless, I’ll always be a fan and maintain a strong relationship with him.”
