During the season, NFL quarterbacks have little time for themselves. However, Jared Goff, the quarterback for the Detroit Lions, used the early offseason break this month to go on a trip with his wife and child.
The Goff family traveled to Northern California during Super Bowl weekend, according to Cara O’Bleness of SI Lifestyle. On February 8, the main event took place in Santa Clara at the San Francisco 49ers’ stadium.
This week, Goff published images from the trip on his Instagram account.
The “photo dump” featured five images of the family’s newest member—Goff’s daughter Romy, who was born in July.
Goff went to California to see the Pro Bowl Games, and the family also went to the quarterback’s alma maters, as seen in the Instagram photos.
In the 2025 campaign, Goff finished 68% of his passes for 4,564 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, which earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl. In the Lions’ 9-8 campaign, he averaged 7. 9 yards per throw.

The Goff family could not have chosen a better moment to go on vacation. The quarterback and his wife Christen were both enjoying recent professional accomplishments during the NFL offseason.
Christen also said on February 5 that she would be one of the digital cover models for the SI Swimsuit in February 2026, in addition to Goff being chosen for the 2026 Pro Bowl.
The family paid a trip to Goff’s former stomping grounds in honor of the occasion. The quarterback just included the California area code, where they went, as the caption to his Instagram picture.
In the neighborhood, Goff participated in football at both the high school and collegiate levels. The quarterback posted images on social media of the family touring both Marin Catholic and the University of California, Berkeley.
The “sweetest” were the family pictures, according to O’Bleness.
